Editorial Policy

SuppBench exists to help consumers compare supplements using clear, standardized product data.

Our editorial decisions are guided by accuracy, transparency, consistency, and usefulness.

We aim to separate product research from marketing influence as much as possible.

How we choose products

Products may be included because they are:

  • widely available
  • commonly searched for
  • representative of a supplement category or format
  • unusually good value
  • strongly verified or certified
  • frequently compared with competing products
  • useful for understanding an important trade-off

A product does not need to have an affiliate program to be included.

Similarly, having an affiliate relationship does not guarantee inclusion.

How we research products

Where possible, SuppBench uses primary product information such as:

  • manufacturer product pages
  • supplement facts labels
  • ingredient lists
  • certification databases
  • Certificates of Analysis
  • laboratory reports
  • manufacturer documentation
  • retailer pricing

When appropriate, we may also use scientific literature, regulatory information, and other reputable sources to explain ingredients or testing standards.

We avoid relying on another affiliate website as the primary source for a product claim when a more direct source is available.

Product scores

Products may receive a SuppBench Score based on our published methodology.

The same scoring rules are applied consistently within a category.

Scores may change when:

  • prices change
  • formulations change
  • package sizes change
  • new testing evidence becomes available
  • certifications change
  • incorrect data is corrected
  • our methodology is improved

You can read the full scoring framework on our Methodology page.

Rankings and recommendations

Recommendations are based on the factors relevant to the specific comparison.

For example, a product may be selected as:

  • Best Value
  • Best Verified
  • Best Gummies
  • Best for Convenience

without necessarily having the highest overall score.

This is because different consumers prioritize different things.

We aim to explain why a product is recommended rather than simply placing products in an unexplained ranking.

Affiliate relationships

SuppBench may earn commissions when readers buy products through certain links.

Affiliate relationships do not influence:

  • product scores
  • product inclusion
  • category weighting
  • ranking position
  • negative findings
  • whether competing products are discussed

A higher commission does not improve a product’s score.

We may recommend products for which no affiliate relationship exists.

Sponsored content

If SuppBench publishes sponsored content in the future, it will be clearly identified as sponsored.

Sponsored content will not alter SuppBench Scores or independently researched product rankings.

We will not present paid placement as an independent editorial recommendation.

Free products and samples

Manufacturers may occasionally provide products for review.

Receiving a free product does not guarantee positive coverage, inclusion, or a recommendation.

Where receiving a product could reasonably affect how readers interpret our review, we will disclose it.

Corrections

Accuracy matters to us.

If we discover a factual error, we aim to correct it promptly.

Manufacturers, retailers, testing organizations, and readers are welcome to submit corrections.

Please contact:

contact@suppbench.com

Where possible, include documentation or a direct source supporting the requested correction.

Conflicting information

Manufacturers sometimes publish inconsistent information across product pages, labels, retailer listings, or different versions of the same product.

When this happens, SuppBench may:

  • calculate quantities independently
  • prioritize the current product label
  • contact the manufacturer
  • mark the information as uncertain
  • reduce the confidence assigned to the product data

We do not silently choose whichever number produces the most favorable result.

Unverified claims

If a manufacturer states that a product is:

“third-party tested”

but we cannot independently verify the claim, we may report the claim while clearly distinguishing it from independently confirmed certification or public testing documentation.

Unverified does not mean false.

It means we have not found enough evidence to independently confirm it.

Medical and health information

SuppBench may discuss scientific research and evidence relating to supplement ingredients.

However, SuppBench does not provide personalized medical advice.

We aim to distinguish between:

  • established evidence
  • preliminary research
  • manufacturer claims
  • areas where evidence remains uncertain

Readers with medical conditions, medication use, pregnancy, or other individual health considerations should seek appropriate professional guidance when necessary.

Independence

SuppBench’s long-term value depends on readers trusting the data.

That means maintaining separation between:

what the evidence says

and

how SuppBench earns money

When those interests conflict, the editorial result should come first.
